ICOT 2013 – Conference Venue

The Andreas Themistocleous Building

Cyprus University of Technology

ConfVenue01The Andreas Themistocleous building of the Cyprus University of Technology sits on Athinon street (Paleo Ktimatologio), in the heart of Limassol, about 200 metres from the waterfront.
It houses a lecture theatre where the plenary sessions will take place and a number of smaller lecture rooms, all equipped with the latest in audio-visual technology, where the parallel sessions will be conducted.
The building has been an integral part of public life in Limassol for the last 100 years.
City benefactors funded its construction and operation as a girls’ school until 1954 when it was turned into the district courthouse.
From 1979 until very recently, it housed the district Land Registry Office. Since the University took ownership of the historic building, it has been carefully restored to its original glory and adapted to fit the needs of a modern university.
