Half-day Trip to Sorrento and Gala Dinner (18:30 – 21:00)

hal dayOn the evening of July 1st delegates will enjoy a half-day trip to Sorrento, a small town wonderfully located less than one hour away from Naples. Sorrento, with its pastel coloured houses and its small squares, lies on a Tufa terrace over white steep cliffs and is surrounded by orange and lemon groves. The town has been a popular vacation retreat since 600 B.C., and today its charms are many, from the picturesque streets of the old city adorned by patrician villas, to the Marina Grande, a traditional fishing harbour. The panoramic sea view from the public gardens is spectacular: the seaside terrace offers spectacular views of the Bay of Naples and the peak of Mount Vesuvius. It is the home town of Limoncello, a very tasty lemon liqueur typical of the Amalfi coast. After the tour, delegates will enjoy a special gala dinner at the Hotel Elisabetta, located in the near town of Castellammare di Stabia: the dinner will be enriched by a demonstration show of freshly made local products sponsored by Malafronte Gragnano and by the Mediterranean rhythm and melodies sponsored by the Istituto Scisar.
